Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. Fast cars, beer, and the number 420 are the topics of the week. There has to be a joke in there somewhere; I just wasn’t clever enough to figure it out. This week’s issue includes an overview of each live AIP plus additional updates across the DAO. Let’s dive in.

GWG AIP-317 Budget Impact & Transparency Report

ApeCoinDAO, In September 2023, the Governance Working Group (GWG) initiated a mission to broaden our scope and deliver significantly more value to the ApeCoin DAO community than what was originally outlined in our charter. ✍️ Stat of the Week

Over the last couple weeks, the amount of Daily Engaged users on the Forum has risen to the highest its been in the past year.

Thank APE kicking off season five a couple weeks ago was likely a huge factor in this rise, but I'm curious how long this trend continues.

There are three proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 3/20. You can view the proposals and vote on Snapshot here.

AIP-394: Bored Brewing Beer Co (Resubmission) 

This proposal is a resubmission of AIP-375. You can find my write-up of that proposal in this issue below:

🗞️ The Bulletin Bored: ApeChain, Bored Brewing, and Founders' Circle

(Issue 85)

According to the author, the updated proposal includes additional visuals and context to clear up confusion from the previous proposal. It would include the following:

  • DAO would give $75,000 for 2.5% equity to the DAO = $3M Valuation

  • 10,000 DAO Dark Lager cans free for ApeCoin holders

  • 10,000 cans of beer for 10 community IRL events (10 ApeCoin holder independent panel + Feld, Quit, Pieter, David & Gene would decide which events get the beer)

  • Brewing capacity and ability to deliver to events in Asia, UK, Canada, and the US

  • ApeCoin gamified educational platform

  • Boring Brewery Clubhouse/Taproom IRL in 2024

  • Otherside and other assets (such as Faraway) for Yuga Labs Gaming

It is asking for 149,696 ApeCoin, broken down as follows:

  • Approx 50K ApeCoin - $75K USD in exchange for 2.5% equity utilizing the SAFE agreement mentioned in the proposal.

  • 40K ApeCoin for 20,000 (approx $3/can including shipping) cans of Beer. Designed, recipe developed, partnered with, produced and project managed to deliver globally.

  • 10K ApeCoin towards skins and assets for Metaverse, Gaming, and ODK activations.

  • 15K ApeCoin towards software development, design, testing, and deployment of the ApeCoin gamified educational platform for ApeCoin

  • 20K ApeCoin towards the IRL Clubhouse/Taproom build out

  • 5K ApeCoin for technology integration and distribution setup for direct to consumer shipping

  • 9,696 ApeCoin for marketing, comms, project management, and graphic design/assets for promotion of each activation and partnership as well as content creation for each of the deliverables.

AIP-399: Reserving AIP ID #420 

This proposal seeks to temporarily reserve AIP ID number 420. The proposal team would collaborate with the community to organize a competition where the winner would be awarded AIP ID number 420 and a grant not exceeding 420,000 ApeCoin.

AIP-406: ApeCoin DAO multi-year partnership with Redacted, a Formula One Team 

The APE Foundation is facilitating this proposal on behalf of [Redacted], a Formula One (F1) racing team. Due to confidentiality undertakings, the Ape Foundation is unable to disclose the name of [Redacted] until after the voting period has finished and the grant agreement has been executed (if the proposal were to pass). The Ape Foundation did mention that [Redacted] finished inside the top six of the 2023 Constructor Standings.

As part of this proposal, the DAO would receive:

  • Two-year partnership with [Redacted]

  • Season-long brand placement on rear engine cover lower location

  • Driver wearing ApeCoin designed jersey during one race

  • Driver team collateral branding

  • 10 Las Vegas Premium Hospitality Tickets

  • 10 Premium Tickets (Miami, Singapore, Austin, Abu Dhabi)

  • 20 Premium Tickets (all grand prix races not mentioned above)

  • Right to purchase additional premium tickets at partner rate

  • 25 Circuit admission tickets for use at F1 races

  • [Redacted] Passes for “backstage access”

  • Access to motorhome/team dinner

  • 3 passes to car launches

  • All ApeCoin DAO guests visiting would have opportunity to meet the [Redacted] drivers

  • 4 Senior Management appearances

  • 1 Ambassador appearance

  • 50 signed hats

  • 100 polo shirts

  • Dedicated landing page on [Redacted] website

  • Social Media Posts

The team is requesting €5,125,000 over two years, broken down as follows (at the time of writing 1 € = 1.09 USD).

Year-One payment schedule:

  • 40% €1,000,000.00, upon approval of the AIP and execution of grant agreement (if proposal were to pass)

  • 30% €750,000.00, April 2024

  • 30% €750,000.00, June 2024

Year-Two payment schedule:

  • €1,050,000.00, February 2025

  • €787,500.00, April 2025

  • €787,500.00, June 2025

The DAO would retain the option to renew the partnership for a third year, following the payment schedule above plus a 5% escalator. The DAO would be able to exercise this option with a follow-up AIP.

There were no proposals that completed the voting process last Wednesday. Final results for the proposals currently up for vote will be posted here in two weeks.
