The Bulletin Bored: Working Group Charters

(Issue 50)

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. In addition to the initial Governance Working Group proposal, four additional Working Group Charters have been posted to Discourse over the past week. This week’s issue includes information on each plus additional updates across the DAO.

AIP-239 (Working Group Guidelines & Governance Working Group Charter) is currently in the Administrative Review phase of the AIP process. As we await next steps, different members across WG0 have proposed additional Working Group Charters. You can find them here:

It's a new era in the ApeCoin DAO. After having 38 AIP Drafts sitting on Discourse back in December, there are now only 5 today. Gone are the days of having to wait months for a resolution on your proposal.

There are four proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 4/19. You can vote on Snapshot here.

This proposal aims to have the ApeCoin DAO join Kickback in participating in an IRL gaming activation from Cxmmunity. It mentions the following goals:

  • Exposing ApeCoin and the DAO to the next generation of gamers entering Web3

  • Placing the DAO in closer relations with accredited institutions and municipal governments that participate in, oversee and regulate these events

The overall cost would be $100,000.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

This proposal aims to build personalized webpages to highlight important things related to each Bored Ape or Mutant Ape. These would be free page claims (not including gas fees) to keep the pages live for the first year. To claim a page, someone would need to own an Ape (BAYC/MAYC) and have a minimum of 10 ApeCoin in his/her wallet.

The proposal mentions a timeline of about four months with incremental monthly releases for community feedback.

  • Month 1

    • Splash page and waitlist signup (already available)

    • Research/scoping (started)

    • UI/UX (started)

This proposal is a resubmission of AIP-123. Some components of the original timeline were removed and the overall cost was lowered from $164,000 to $135,000** for the first year.

The proposal mentions aiming to 1) bring more utility to ApeCoin, 2) deliver meaningful information about the Ape ecosystem, and 3) facilitate an active ApeCoin DAO community.

Below is the cost breakdown taken from the proposal:

  • UI/UX design * 1 people * 2 months = 6,000 * 1 * 2 = $12,000

  • Website front-end development * 3 people * 2 months = 4000 * 3 * 2 = $24,000

  • On-going development and maintenance of the website * 1 person * 10 months = 4,000 * 1 * 10 = $40,000

  • Smart contract development *1 people * 1 months = 8,000 * 1 * 1 = $8,000

  • Smart contract audit = $10,000

  • Website content operations * 1 person * 10 months = 3,000 * 1 * 10 = $30,000

  • Invited writers * 1 articles per month * 10 months = 500 * 1 * 10 = $5,000

  • Marketing campaigns * 1 every 2 months * 10 months = 1000 * 0.5 * 10 = $5,000

  • Others (domain name, server, etc.) = $3,000

Total: $135,000** for the first year.

**Note: The proposal mentions an overall cost of $135,000 but the sum of each bullet point above adds up to $137,000.
