**Sorry for the inadvertent issue earlier this morning. I must have had one too many cups of coffee and pressed the publish button a little too early 😉. Here is this week’s actual issue

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO.

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t start off by thanking everyone for the amazing amount of support you all showed me during my WG0 Steward election campaign. I was anxiously glued to my screen the entire week waiting for the voting window to close. With the election completed, I’m ecstatic to be one of the four Stewards selected to join the existing three. Five days officially on the job, I’m happy to report we have all been hard at work on the tasks outlined in WG0.

  • Working Group Zero selected 4 additional Stewards (Halina, Lost, Vulkan, and Badteeth) to join the 3 existing ones (Waabam, Amplify, and AdventurousApe)

  • Per AIP-196, Cartan’s current contract is set to expire on 2/28

  • The BAYC Dookey Dash game is up an running with the Sewer Pass claim window open until February 8th

As mentioned above, the selection process for the 7 WG0 Stewards is now complete. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all 18 candidates who ran for election. It was great to learn more about each candidate and what role they hope to play in WG0. Sera also made this amazing artwork below to commemorate the winners.

The Delegation site built by Brian Wagner and Maaria Bajwa is now live. You can find the link below, as well as my delegation statement.

Here is a comparison of the average price of approved vs. failed proposals. As you can see, there is quite a gap between the two.

There are three proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting for each ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 1/25.

ThankApe aims to reward valuable DAO contributions in a decentralized, automated way. The proposal states they can encourage and thank the following types of contributions:

  • Governance participation

  • Onboarding & education

  • Intra-DAO collaboration

  • Defi & web3 partnerships

  • Community building

  • Completing Core Tasks

  • Art and culture innovations

  • Infrastructure innovations

Members would have the option to keep the rewards or donate them to approved charities. The technology also includes a way to filter out bots and bad actors.

The costs for the first six months would include:

  • Monthly rewards for community contributions (0-33.3k Apecoin)

  • Monthly allocation to Thank Ape tech development and support (0-7k Apecoin)

The proposal also states the Thank Ape system can be funded by partnerships with already passed AIPs so there is no cost to the DAO after 6 months.

You can find the full proposal here and the current voting results are below.

This proposal presents the idea of NFTV Network producing an animated interview series to feature Apecoin holders (anyone holding at least 10 tokens) on a weekly basis. The episodes would also be turned into NFTs and sold exclusively in Apecoin. Below is the proposed timeline:

  • Create interview questions (1 week)

  • Record voice overs (1 week)

  • Animate Gory Greg (2-4 weeks)

  • Setup Token-Gated Interview Portal (2-4 weeks)

  • Edit videos, post content, and find new participants (26 weeks)

The total cost of this proposal would be 38,319 Apecoin. You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

This proposal aims to produce 12 independent animations with a run time of one minute each. Atrium would announce a central theme to the animation series and there would be an ensuing casting call for IP holders to submit their characters for consideration.

After the artists select their favorite characters from the casting call, the owners would be invited into a personalized producer experience and act as co-creators to provide feedback and input throughout the process. The community would also have input in determining which characters are featured.

The proposed cost of this AIP is $200,000. You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

Back in November, AllCityBAYC posted a proposal idea to produce a bi-monthly collectible magazine. Columns would include various topics such as DAO-led initiatives, successful AIPs, use cases, brands utilizing IP, meetup group info, augmented reality, and many others.

This proposal is seeking a one-time grant for development and first-issue production with an overall cost of $52,500. The initial roll-out would include 350 copies of issue one, 500 copies of issue two, and 750 copies of issues three through six. If this proposal were to pass, the team anticipates it taking 10-12 weeks for the first issue to be released.

Physical magazines would be available through the purchase of NFTs, claimable two weeks after the sellout of each drop. These NFTs would have different rarity tiers enabling immediate and future utility. The price per NFT would be the equivalent of $150 purchased in Apecoin. The budget also includes purchasing two Otherdeeds to be given away (one for Twitter growth and one as a reward to the person holding the golden NFT).

You can check out the full proposal here, including a detailed breakdown of the proposed timeline and costs.

Since AIP-196 passed, much of the focus has been centered around Working Groups as WG0 aims to establish objectives and guidelines for future groups. So far, the following have been discussed as potential options.

  • Operations

  • Governance

  • Communication

  • Mission Statement

  • Events

  • Treasury

  • Technology

  • Decentralized Rewards

  • Education

  • Art

  • Music & Media

  • Surveys

Former Apecoin DAO Special Council Member Maaria continues to keep the community informed on what is happening across the Web3 community with her weekly newsletter. Below are some of the updates from her most recent issue. You can subscribe to the full version here.

  • Yuga Labs released "Sewer Passes", NFTs that give holders access to a new game called Dookey Dash. The Sewer Pass smart contract was programmed to block certain addresses, including marketplaces like LooksRare who are not enforcing creator royalties. The game will be available to play until February 8th.

  • National Geographic’s first NFT launch met with public backlash and minting issues related to its technical partner, Snowcrash.

  • NFT marketplace Blur delays the launch of its native BLUR token to Feb 15.

  • Crypto-related enforcement actions from the SEC are up 50% compared to 2021. The SEC brought 30 enforcement actions against crypto companies in 2022 – 73% included allegations of unregistered security offerings and 50% also alleged fraud
