Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. As the RFP process to find a new DAO Administrator comes to a close on Wednesday (2/22), Working Group Zero (WG0) is starting to pick back up discussions on forming Focus and Working Groups to establish structure in the DAO. This week’s WG0 Update is once again centered around the RFP process currently underway. As you can see in the timeline below, 6 of the 7 steps outlined in AIP-196 have been completed and the proposal to elect a new DAO Administrator is live on Snapshot until Wednesday (2/22). You can place your vote here.
February 7th: RFP is live and posted on Discourse
February 7th - 10th: Stewards’ engagement with bidders
February 10th 5pm EST: Bidders post their proposals to Discourse
February 10th-16th: Community feedback period
February 16th: Proposal evaluations by points system posted by WG0 Stewards in Discourse
February 16th: Proposal to elect new administrator posted to Snapshot
February 22nd: Vote for new administrator completes
The current voting status is below.
February has been an active month of voting, the highest since the inception of the DAO back in March of 2021.
Halfway through, February has the highest average voter count since the inception of the @apecoin DAO back in March.

There is one proposal in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 2/22.
The Forever Apes team is back at it again with their fourth proposal to make it to the Live Voting stage. This proposal presents the idea of the team producing 1000 Capsules, each containing:
4 stickers
1 patch
1 poster
These capsules would be free to claim (plus shipping) to anyone holding 20 ApeCoin tokens in their wallet. The team is requesting $23,000 (paid in ApeCoin) and the use of the ApeCoin logo. The estimated timeline is below:

The Forever Apes team released an update on AIP-112, their playing cards proposal that passed a few months ago.

Former Apecoin DAO Special Council Member Maaria continues to keep the community informed on what is happening across the Web3 community with her weekly newsletter. Below are updates from her most recent issue and you can subscribe to the full version here.
English esports player Mongraal won the Yuga Labs Dookey Dash challenge, an endless runner game meant for Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT holders.
NFT collector Cozomo De Medici donated 22 NFTs to LACMA. The donation includes a rare zombie Cryptopunk and multiple high-valued Art Blocks NFTs.
NFT animation shop Superplastic closed a $20 million Series A funding with investors including Amazon, Google, Sony and Animoca Brands.
Art Blocks and Bright Moments have partnered with Michael Kozlowski to release the Metropolis collection, where each NFT will be tied to a specific city and have a second, physical activation that can only be minted in that city.
GQ launched its first-ever NFT collection this week. Holders will get perks such as a subscription to the magazine, merch and a ticket to a GQ party in New York.
Sony is teaming with multi-chain smart contract network Astar Network for a Web3 incubation program.
Square Enix has partnered with Polygon to launch a gamified art collecting experience. The video game studio behind the Final Fantasy series is investing heavily into blockchain gaming.
Tencent is reportedly scrapping its VR and Metaverse ambitions due to difficulties in achieving quick profitability, prompting layoffs at its XR unit, which it launched in June last year.
CollabLand, a popular community management tool for token-gating, is introducing its own governance token, $COLLAB, via an airdrop. The CollabLand DAO will launch on Layer-2 network Optimism.
NFT marketplace Blur released its $BLUR token and said that any projects that block trading on OpenSea would receive full creator royalties on its marketplace.
OpenSea announced it will temporarily eliminate its marketplace fee and make creator royalties optional starting at 0.5%.
L2 rollup ZkSync is entering a final phase of development before opening to the public. Developers can now test their apps on the L2 and the company made its zkEVM code open sourced.
The SEC has charged Terraform Labs and its CEO, Do Kwon, for securities fraud related to its UST stablecoin and its LUNA tokens.
For the first time since the US Treasury Department shut down Tornado Cash, fewer than half of new ETH blocks are OFAC compliant.
The SEC sued former NBA player Paul Pierce over promoting the Ethereum Max token without disclosing his payment for doing so. Pierce settled with the SEC for $1.4 million.
Alexey Pertsev, the developer behind the crypto mixer Tornado Cash, will remain detained until his next hearing scheduled for April 21. The developer was first arrested in August.
The SEC voted 4-1 on a rule that would require registered investment advisers to hold crypto with a qualified custodian
Coinbase Custody, Anchorage Digital and BitGo have all publicly commented on the SEC crypto custody proposal, arguing they comply with the proposed rule because they are state-chartered trusts.
Lawmakers in the Senate Banking Housing and Urban Affairs Committee to discuss the future regulation of cryptocurrency, but no solid solutions were presented. Lawmakers urged SEC Commissioner Gary Gensler to join their next session.
