The Bulletin Bored: NiftyKit, Ape Worlds, and Wagmi Merch

(Issue 12)

Contributions to this week's newsletter made by @maariabajwa

Welcome back to this week’s edition of The Bulletin Bored. While we don’t have any proposals currently in the Live AIP stage, there are plenty of projects being discussed on the Discourse forum. Let’s take a look at a few and catch up on what happened this past week across Web3 with some timely updates by Maaria.

Dan Carr's proposal aims to use NiftyKit as a launchpad for community NFT projects. It is a “no-code, self-serve smart contract platform” that allows creators to build their own NFT drops in “just minutes instead of weeks or months.” Do you have a project or business idea and want to create an NFT to augment it? If so NiftyKit might be your solution; one much easier and quicker than many other options out there.

The team also has experience working with established brands, including Gucci and Takashi Murakami, with experience in both Web2 and Web3.

Ape Worlds is another no-code experience that allows users to build off the base the team has created. This one involves a game experience using the VyWorlds engine. It aims to allow anyone with an internet connection the ability to build their own Ape-themed world without needing coding skills to do so.

The team is also noteworthy. Vy Worlds is backed by Knock Knock Games, a company founded by former Zynga, EA, Gameloft, and Jam City employees.

ApeWorlds is an ambitious proposal, but one of the five guidelines of the DAO is boldness.

Be sure to check out the AMA session I’m co-hosting with the Ape Worlds team on Tuesday, August 2nd at 5pm EST. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about the project, meet some of the team members, and ask some questions.

Have you ever tried to buy or sell Web3 merch on the secondary market? Simply put, it’s a painful process. It’s difficult to find a seller if you’re looking for a specific item and the amount of Twitter messages you need to send open both parties up to potential scams. Wagmi Merch is an idea proposed by Casey Jones that aims to resolve these issues.

Think of it like a Web3 version of StockX. It would provide a place for people to list their items for sale and have them grouped and sorted by style and collection. It would also require authentication and tie in social accounts to limit the number of scams.
