The Bulletin Bored: NFT Profile Pages & Bored Candy
(Issue 17)
Have you ever wondered what types of things an NFT has been involved in? No, Iām not talking about crimes š ! What I mean is has it been part of a comic book series or does a past owner include a famous celebrity? Well, Track the Myth is a platform that logs these types of things, including milestones, stories, and commercial rights usage.
Akhil is a long-time member of the Bored Ape community and has been working on the Track the Myth project for quite awhile now. My favorite thing about this proposal is that Akhil has taken a lot of time to get in touch with different members of the community, listen to their feedback, and update his proposal before it was even posted on Discourse.
Some details on the rest of the team can be found on the proposal idea posted to Discourse. It includes two software developers (@0xDegenealogy and Brainy), six members from development house Codepace, five advisors, and a lawyer.
The proposal also includes the following features:
API: Track the Myth (TTM) seeks to provide marketplaces, analytics tools and other services the TTM API to connect and use the TTM feeds directly within their platforms.
Mint Pass: a premium membership to the site that gives access to things like token-gated club pages (ex. BAYC Flipped Brim Club), social media integration, buttons added to the site that act as an aggregate option to connect to licensing platforms, and more
Tipping: users can tip exclusively in ApeCoin for a specific NFT on its page. Whoever owns the NFT can redeem it if the amount reaches a certain threshold
Content Creation as a Service (CCAAS): NFT owners have the option to pay an in-house team to help develop the Brand/IP of their digital asset
The āprofile pagesā are token-gated, so only the current owner of the NFT can update them. When I met with Akhil last week, he mentioned he knows people are hesitant to connect their wallet, especially cold ones. They have been looking into options to ease concerns and have mentioned one solution called Vulcan bot. It is an alternative wallet verification discord bot just like āCollabLand,ā but it does not require you to connect to their site. Instead, you are prompted to enter your wallet address into a popup, the program generates a random string of characters for you, and you have a specific amount of time to put that string in your OpenSea bio.
The proposal is asking for an equivalent of $700k-$800k in ApeCoin (amount of tokens dependent upon price at time of voting). Akhil and his team have already spent a large amount of their own capital to build what they have so far. According to the proposal, they are looking for a grant to ācontinue development on features, proper branding, expand collections supported, and integrate ApeCoin into [their] platform to become the main engine of minting, tipping, and exposure/reach.ā
The teamās future plans include rewarding power users of the platform in ApeCoin, adding gamification, and continuing to use ApeCoin even if the NFTs they add support for are on different chains.
If interested, you can check out the live, working MVP here. You can also join Akhil and I on Twitter Spaces tomorrow (9/7) at 7pm EST to learn more about the proposal and ask any questions you have!

Do we have any fellow candy lovers out there? Bored Candy is the latest project Iāve found that utilizes the BAYC IP to create a consumable good. According to their website, the candy is ātossed in special, homemade Chamoy sauce and then covered in special Mexican-inspired sweet and spicy powders, including Tajin.ā
They currently sell three packs of candy. Each costs $13 and includes an image of a Bored Ape on its packaging (ape #1529, #3612, or #9451). They also have an āOG Trioā bundle option where you can buy all three for $30.
Last week, I bought the bundle to try all three and the team was nice enough to include some free samples of other candy products as well. I canāt wait to try them out when they arrive in the mail!
ApeCoin DAO Board Member Maaria is on her honeymoon this week! We hope she is having a great time and look forward to her weekly updates when she returns. In the meantime, you can subscribe to her newsletter here.
