The Bulletin Bored: New Governance Budget Posted to the Forum

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. The Governance Working Group has been busy churning out content this past week. They recently released their DAO Handbook, their new proposed budget for the next six months, and a process to increase implementation reporting on proposals. This week’s issue covers each plus other updates across the DAO.

Below is this week’s AIP Milestone Tracker updates. Most of the updates were operational, including progress on finding a Mission Statement for the DAO.

Assembly Update

The Ape Assembly held it’s fifth meeting this past Wednesday (8/2). Below are the notes from that meeting. The next is scheduled for this Wednesday (8/9) at 7:30am PST.

AIP Live Voting

There are three proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 8/9. You can vote on Snapshot here.

AIP-218: Rumblerz by Gamed Productions - A stop-motion animation/claymation TV show leveraging existing IP

This proposal seeks to have the ApeCoin DAO sponsor Season 1 of Rumblerz, a stop-motion animation/claymation TV show. Below are the milestones mentioned in the proposal:

  • Milestone 1: Puppets fabricated and animatic completed - 4 weeks

  • Milestone 2: Production completed - 2.5 weeks

  • Milestone 3: Post Finished - 3 weeks

  • Milestone 4: Shopping pilot to partners and releasing clips - 6 weeks

AIP-250: Development of Staking Service Maximizing Ape Staking Rewards and Flexibility

This proposal present’s Pawnfi’s ApeCoin Staking idea. It would be designed to enable users to simultaneously receive upfront payment while selling BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, and staked ApeCoin with compounded rewards.

Below are the implementation steps listed in the proposal.

  1. UX/UI Design and Development → 2 weeks (completed)

  2. Technical POC on Testnet → 2 weeks (completed)

  3. MVP → 1 weeks (completed)

  4. Code Audit → 2 weeks (first version completed)

  5. Release → 1 week

  6. Mainnet UAT → 1 week

The proposal is asking for 10,000 ApeCoin, broken down as follows:

  • Code Audit: 5,000 ApeCoin

  • UX/ UI Design: 1,500 ApeCoin

  • Development: 2,500 ApeCoin

  • Future Gas Cost: 1,000 ApeCoin

AIP-295: Protect Snapshot - Must have 1 Apecoin to vote

This proposal seeks to require one whole ApeCoin to vote on Snapshot. It would require no cost to implement.
