The Bulletin Bored: Moar Voting, Otherside News & WG0 Updates

(Issue 48)

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since I wrote the first issue of this newsletter. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed and supported me over this time.

This past week was a busy one in the DAO, including four proposals going up for a vote, multiple Otherside-related pieces of news, and a substantial update from the WG0 Stewards. Read on to find out more on each.

  • Herman Narula, Co-founder & CEO of Improbableio and MSquared_io, hosted an informal demo on Sunday about M2 and MML, their network of Metaverses, and the technology being built by Improbable. He mentioned he’s open to the idea of an informal weekly get-together possibly involving a proposal

  • Former President and COO of Activision Blizzard, Daniel Alegre, officially started his role as CEO of Yuga Labs last Saturday

  • OthersideMeta posted a recap of the Second Trip

  • The BAYC provided a glimpse of Power Sources

  • Having some fun in Discord: Brazy created some fun “Family Guy themed” artwork of the WG0 Stewards

Last Tuesday, the WG0 Stewards shared an updated timeline as part of their Weekly Update. Rather than submitting all recommendations and guidelines as one proposal, the team has decided to break it up into three separate proposals (listed below). The suggested improvements to AIP-1 would be initial recommendations with a plan to allow the Governance Working Group the opportunity to take them over as one of its first initiatives. The plan is to stagger the proposals but still have each posted on Discourse by the end of the month.

Last week was the first week of voting in the DAO in about a month. The average amount of voters was just over 800, lower than February but in line with previous months.

There are four proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 4/5. You can vote on Snapshot here.

This proposal aims to build an ApeCoin DAO marketplace via NFT Embed. As mentioned in the proposal, NFT Embed would be free to use. It would launch with a 0.30% marketplace fee and a 0% finder’s fee. This proposal is not requesting any funding from the ApeCoin DAO.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

This proposal is a resubmission of AIP-161, with edits. The author is requesting a reward of 6,000 ApeCoin for the work done on gas optimizations for the Horizen Labs project.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

This proposal is another idea from the ForeverApes team. This one includes the team developing a custom plug-in to enable Shopify to support ApeCoin as a displayed currency on products and facilitate the integration of ApeCoin into the displayed currency on Shopify product pages.

The overall cost would be $25,000 paid in ApeCoin and the plug-in would be available to retailers at no cost.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

Another resubmission, this author is requesting 39,170 ApeCoin to make himself whole from the Rari Hack of April 2022.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

The were three proposals that completed the voting process last Wednesday. Here are the final results for each:

Thanks for reading this week’s edition! As mentioned above, a lot of ideas are being proposed on the Discourse forum nearly every day. If you have one of your own and are unsure where to begin, please reach out to me so I can help you get started.
