The Bulletin Bored: Miami Vibes šŸŒ“

Issue 69

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. What a weekend it was in Miami. Community members and the BAYC team put together memorable experiences and it was great to meet so many amazing people. With the focus back on the DAO this week, weā€™ll cover a couple Ape Assembly votes, the four AIPs currently being voted on, and more.

Assembly Update

The Ape Assembly is currently voting on the two internal positions below. Voting closes in just under 7 hours from now @ 8:59 PM PST.

Chart of the Week

Last week, I posted the chart below showing the number of AIPs in process on the Forum had declined this past month while wondering whether that decline was going to continue or not.

Since then, the number of AIPs in process on the Forum has increased back up to 74.

AIP Live Voting

There are four proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 8/30. You can vote on Snapshot here.

AIP-252: Funding Grant Proposals using Delegated Domain Allocation

This proposal is requesting the DAO to set aside $1,000,000 to be disbursed by four elected domain allocators (chosen from the community and by the community) to fund various teams across two quarters. Each elected allocator would focus on a specific domain and have their performance viewable and auditable via a dashboard.

At the end of each quarter, the community would be able to vote to replace, continue, or increase budgets for each domain allocator. The team behind the proposal, Questbook, would assume custody of the funds, help facilitate setting up the domain allocators, and provide tooling to run the program.

The $1,000,000 grant request would also include the following:

  1. Program Manager (1): $100/hour (est. $24K per quarter at 20 hours per week)

  2. Domain Allocator (4): $80/hour (est. $14.4K per quarter at 15 hours/week per domain allocator)

  3. Questbook fee: 3% of all disbursals made through Questbook as a product fee

The proposal states unused funds would be returned to treasury after two quarters. You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

AIP-285: Ape Insights - More Than Just Another Newsletter Proposal

This proposal seeks to create a newsletter for the ApeCoin DAO community that would aim to offer concise summaries of proposals in the draft stage. It would focus on the goals and potential impact of the proposals and also include a dedicated section to gather community feedback.

The Beehiiv platform would be considered for initial distribution and a website would also be in the teamā€™s plans. The team also stated they would explore synergies with other DAO newsletters.

This AIP is requesting 55,800 ApeCoin and the timeline proposed by the team is below.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

AIP-290: Podcast Network in the Metaverse

The team behind this proposal, metaSTUDIO, is seeking a 12-month ā€œPowered byā€ sponsorship from the DAO. The sponsorship and grant requested would enable the team to continue producing their current show, ā€œBehind the Avatar,ā€ and allow their Creative Director and Host (Krafter) to work full-time to create new shows and marketing content for all social media platforms.

The AIP is asking for $60,000. You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

AIP-294: Use of ApeCoin logo/branding for a ā€˜WLT SKNā€™ (wallet skin) in the WLT mobile app by Satoshiā€™s Closet

This proposal is requesting authorization to use the ApeCoin logo/branding for a ā€œWLT SKNā€ (Wallet Skin) in the WLT mobile app by Satoshiā€™s Closet.

The WLT mobile wallet app is available for both iOS and Android and is designed to allow users to view their entire NFT collection across multiple blockchains and wallets in one place. The WLT SKN feature of the mobile app is a way to personalize and skin the app.

There would be no cost to implement this. You can find the full proposal here and the current voting results are below.

AIP Completed Voting

There was one proposal that completed the voting process last Wednesday. Here is the final result:

AIP-283: APE AR: The AR Launchpad, Powered by ApeCoin
