The Bulletin Bored: Happy 2nd Birthday BAYC

(Issue 51)

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. It feels like we were just celebrating the one-year anniversary of the BAYC, yet here we are already celebrating the two-year anniversary. Time really does fly by. With four AIPs up for a vote last week and five more this week, it’s been a busy month of voting in the DAO. This week’s issue includes an overview of each plus a few other items from the past week.

AIP-239 (Working Group Guidelines & Governance Working Group Charter) and AIP-240 (Community Discourse Facilitators) are currently up for a vote on Snapshot this week. Voting ends on Wednesday (4/26) at 9 PM EST.

With five proposals currently up for a vote, April has already had more AIPs voted on than any other month in the history of the ApeCoin DAO.

There are five proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 4/26. You can vote on Snapshot here.

This proposal is asking the DAO to sponsor the DAM Show and Live Game Shows. It lists the following purposes of the proposal:

  • Build hype for The Otherside

  • Give Otherdeeds to future players

  • Expand The DAM Show’s reach

  • Get The DAM Show over the chasm so their reach is large enough to attract sponsorships and The DAM Show can become a self-sustaining operation

The overall cost would be $95,000 broken down as follows:

  • Phase 1: Fund giveaways for Live Game Shows ($40K USD)

  • Phase 2: Support the crossing of the chasm ($55K USD)

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

This AIP proposes a platform that would allow community members to form and manage as DAOs on Otherside islands. The platform would include a set of tools, including statistics and information on islands, that would allow these members to accomplish this.

The overall cost of this proposal would be $48,000.

This proposal states its goal is “to operationalize the ApeCoin DAO through autonomous Working Groups, beginning with the Governance Working Group which would allow the community to continue the DAO approved governance process including the suggestion, discussion, voting and implementation of proposals.”

The cost of this proposal would be $180,000 over a four-month period.

This proposed team of Discourse Facilitators would be responsible for overseeing parts of the proposal process, moderating community discussions, enforcing forum rules, and encouraging positive community engagement based on DAO-approved guidelines.

Community members who are interested in this role would be able to apply and qualifying candidates would be part of a DAO-wide vote. The cost of this proposal would be $80,000 over a four-month period.
