The Bulletin Bored: The First Working Group Is Approved!
(Issue 52)
Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. With the passing of AIP-239 last week, I’m honored to begin my term as the DAO Secretary today. As a result, I’ve added a new section to this newsletter called “Secretary Update” where I plan to include updates on things like a DAO-wide calendar, organization chart, transparency reports, and progress reports.
ApeCoin holders have until May 3rd to complete the Ledger X ApeCoin Quest
On May 3rd, expect a Discourse announcement for the Special Council and Governance WG Steward Cycle Two elections to be held in June, for Terms starting July 1st
The deadline to apply for the Community Discourse Facilitator role is May 5th
As part of AIP-239 (Working Group Guidelines & Governance Working Group Charter), I’m honored to officially begin my work as the DAO Secretary today.
To kick off my first update, I want to share the DAO timeline for the next four months. There will be three separate elections coming in May and June to elect the following:
Community Discourse Facilitators (2 winners)
Governance Working Group Stewards (2 winners)
Special Council Members (2 winners)
With the passing of AIP-239, the Ape Assembly is set to be ratified over the coming months. There are three ways someone can qualify to be a member of the Ape Assembly, one of which is achieving Trust Level 2 status on Discourse. Below are the requirements of Trust Level 2 and how many Discourse members achieved that status as of April 25, 2023.
There is one proposal in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 5/3. You can vote on Snapshot here.
This proposal aims to make 500 rugs for sale on a first come, first serve basis. The rugs would cost 123 ApeCoin, inclusive of shipping, and the process would be token-gated for purchase only in ApeCoin.
The proposal is asking for $0 from the DAO. Instead, it is asking the DAO for:
Approval for one-time use of the Apecoin logo for a limited-release drop
The official ApeCoin Twitter account to tweet and retweet when the store is ready and bi-weekly until 500 carpets are sold
You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.
There were five proposals that completed the voting process last Wednesday. Here are the final results for each:
Thanks for reading this week’s edition! As mentioned above, a lot of ideas are being proposed on the Discourse forum nearly every day. If you have one of your own and are unsure where to begin, please reach out to me so I can help you get started.
