The Bulletin Bored: Discord Update and Voter Fatigue
(Issue 56)
Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO. To start off this week’s issue, I wanted to provide a quick update on the ApeCoin DAO Working Group Zero (WG0) Discord Server. It is currently in the process of being transitioned to a different name/vanity link so please do not use that WG0 Discord invite link I shared in previous issues of this newsletter. Another update will be provided once the server is fully transitioned.
This week’s issue includes election updates, a potential sign of voter fatigue, and overviews of the three Live AIPs currently up for a vote. Let’s dive in.
The election period for two Forum Facilitators concluded last Wednesday (5/24) and the two winners (12GAUGE and CryptoLogically) are scheduled to begin their terms on 6/1
Accepted applications for Governance Working Group Stewards are starting to have their associated profiles posted to the Forum as they pass KYC; check them out here
Accepted applications for Special Council are also starting to have their associated profiles posted to the Forum as they pass KYC; check them out here
I’ve made additional updates to my Milestone Tracker database since last week. Here’s a breakdown of the progress made.
Reminder for authors: You can post in the Discourse thread or fill out this form to let us know of any updates you have.
Is voter participation waning in the ApeCoin DAO? AIP-179 from this past week had 424 wallets vote on the proposal. This is the second lowest amount in the entire history of the ApeCoin DAO.
With three AIPs and an election to vote on last week, three more AIPs this week, and two more elections on the horizen, May has been another busy month of voting. I wonder if fatigue is starting to set in. The number of wallets voting each week has been declining since February.
The Discourse Forum Facilitator Election completed last Wednesday. Congratulations to CryptoLogically and 12GAUGE on being selected as the two new Facilitators, who will begin their terms on June 1st. You can find the final results of the election here.
There are three proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 5/31. You can vote on Snapshot here.
This proposal is requesting funding to allow the Forever Apes team to create an informative website for all media pertaining to the Yuga and “shuttle friend” ecosystems. The website would include news, media resources, a scheduling page, and DAO voting reminders. The types of media covered would include:
News/Newsletters
Tutorials
Music (Catalog of musicians who are using their IP)
Podcasts
Video Streams (Combination of YouTube and Twitch)
Twitter Spaces (Links to all scheduled and impromptu spaces)
Featured section (Rotating selection of featured creators)
The proposal is asking for $85,000 (granted in ApeCoin) and the ApeCoin Twitter account to Tweet about the platform upon completion as well as Tweets twice a month (for 12 months).
You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.
The author of this proposal, Holocron, previously submitted AIP-91 that was approved by the DAO back in September.
This new proposal, which includes additional features, has broken its milestones into three groups, each lasting four months.
Group A

“Apes Near You” map (3 weeks)
New features to the text editor (1 week)
Add onboarding tool (3 weeks)
Group B
Make some sections public (2 weeks)
Add support for Otherside / 10KTF holders (1 week)

This proposal is asking for $330,000 (granted in ApeCoin), which would be divided into payments for each “Group” of work completed ($110,000 each). The author stated they would only receive the next payment if they confirm with the Ape Foundation that the work for the current block is ready in production.
You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.
The author of this proposal, Evil, previously submitted AIP-172 that was rejected by the DAO back in March. The author provided the following resubmission updates as part of AIP-244:
