Members of the Surreal Guild hosted a Space on Sunday, which included discussion on the four proposals currently up for a vote on Snapshot. You can listen to the recording below:

Balou, the ApeCoin DAO Lead for the UK Ape Club, is competing for a chance to have his ape on the wing of a Williams Racing F1 race car.

Assembly Update

Congratulations to BigBull and BojangleGuy, who were named as Spokesperson and Coordinator of the Ape Assembly last week. They’ve already made significant headway on the Assembly, holding several meetings and posting potential voting topics on Discord for community discussion.

Chart of the Week

August was a busy month. The 16 AIPs voted on by the community were the highest of any month in the history of the DAO. Shoutout to the Special Council and the Facilitators for putting in so much work reviewing proposals.

AIP Live Voting

There are four proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 9/6. You can view the proposals and vote on Snapshot here.

AIP-291: Approve and Publish ApeCoin DAO Brand Guidelines v1.1 on ApeCoin dot com

This proposal aims to approve and publish the ApeCoin DAO Brand Guidelines on the official ApeCoin website and create and operate a “[email protected]” email for specific questions regarding The Brand Guidelines.

The steps to implement would include:

  1. Create a new email called [email protected], which would be managed by the Ape Foundation.

  2. Publish the approved guidelines on the ApeCoin website.

  3. Communicate the publication of the guidelines to the community through official channels.

This proposal would include no cost to the DAO. You can find the full proposal here and the current voting results are below.

AIP-293: APE awards for round 2 runner ups in the elections

This proposal aims to reward the runner-ups of the recent Special Council and Governance Steward elections back in June 2023 and the next election cycle coming up in December 2023. It would reward a total of 12 runner-ups:

  • June 2023 Special Council: 3

  • June 2023 Governance Stewards: 3

  • December 2023 Special Council: 2

  • December 2023 Governance Stewards: 4

Each runner up would receive 2,000 ApeCoin, for a total of 24,000 ApeCoin. You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

AIP-299: ApeCoin merch for the ApeFest

This proposal is requesting the DAO to give away (for free) ApeCoin DAO merch (cap + hoodie + t-shirt) to those who meet both of these criteria:

  • Earned the Assembly role in the ApeCoin DAO discord

  • Will be attending ApeFest

This proposal would include the following steps to implement:

  1. Procure and ship merch samples (plain, un-customized) to three different users for feedback (Cost: $300)

  2. One week of merch design followed by a decision on the final designs via a Discord vote among Ape Assembly members (Cost: $4,000)

  3. Hold another vote in the Ape Assembly on whether or not to do another run of 50 merch kits (Cost: $80 * the number of kits to be ordered)

This proposal would include a maximum cost of $8,300. You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the current voting results are below.

AIP-300: Create Custom "Beta Tester" Forum Badge

This proposal aims to create a custom “Beta Tester” badge on the Forum. The proposal author, Hangout, would coordinate with the Community Discourse Facilitator Team to manually add the badge to members of the Beta Testing Group.

This proposal would include no cost to the DAO. You can find the full proposal here and the current voting results are below.
