🗳️ AIP Live Voting

There are five proposals in the Live Voting stage this week. Voting ends at 6 PM PST on Wednesday 4/17. You can view the proposals and vote on Snapshot here.

(voting results below as of Sunday night PST, April 7th)

AIP-398: ApeCoin Rewards App

This proposal is a resubmission of AIP-178. It’s requesting funding for an “ApeCoin Rewards App,” which would be available on both iOS and Android plus as a web app. It would offer a range of rewards and benefits to ApeCoin and BAYC holders while also providing visibility to Made By Apes licensees.

The app would offer the ability to access POAP NFT drops, multimedia promotional content from partners, industry event promotional opportunities, and discounts and special offers in collaboration with Made By Apes licensees and participating retailers across the United States and Europe (both online and in real life). The app would be free to use with the ability to gate content and rooms.

It is asking for £240,000 (approximately $288,000) for one year (£144,000 for platform operation and £96,000 for account management). The grant would be paid quarterly, with the first payment due upon project initiation.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the voting results as of 4/7 are below.

AIP-400: Enable $APE as a payment option for onchain consumer transactions on Co:Create Ink

This proposal is requesting funding to create an extension of Co:Create Ink, enabling redeemable and digital-only tattoo designs to be powered by and purchased with ApeCoin. It’s primary objective would be establishing a sustainable business model that 1) would establish a new use case for ApeCoin and 2) would create real-world consumer transactions using ApeCoin.

It is requesting $50,000 for the following:

  • Legal review to ensure no issues with accepting ApeCoin to buy tattoos domestically and internationally

  • Identifying and integrating with a crypto payments provider/platform

  • Design and product management to create a product requirements doc and Figma designs

  • Engineering resources to build and test ApeCoin payment rails in the product

  • Operationalize accepting payments in ApeCoin and paying artists on a set cadence.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the voting results as of 4/7 are below.

AIP-405: [Resubmission] ApeSwap on ApeChain

This proposal is a resubmission of AIP-223. It is requesting funding to build “ApeSwap”, a native ApeChain Decentralized Exchange (DEX) powered by Solidity dot io and Sushi Labs (Sushi Swap). It would enable the decentralized exchange of tokens supported by multi-asset pools, which would earn liquidity providers fees from market making and swap fees.

ApeSwap would include a protocol fee for token swaps, as 50% of all protocol fees would return back to the ApeCoin DAO treasury. The DEX would undergo a token generation event and provide an airdrop of ApeSwap DEX native tokens to ApeCoin token holders and the ApeCoin DAO treasury.

It would also offer a token airdrop to active Sushi Swap ecosystem users to incentivize the growth and adoption of ApeChain by the broader DeFi community. xSushi (Staked sushi) holders would likely be the targets for the airdrop. Sushi Labs would support strategic and technical efforts with the deployment, ownership, and maintenance of the DEX with development support from Solidity dot io.

This proposal is asking for 750,000 ApeCoin, broken down as follows:

(Note: as of writing, it’s unclear whether the ask for 750,000 ApeCoin or $750,000 as it mentions 750,000 ApeCoin but the itemized breakdown uses USD.)

Platform Design & Development: $340K

  • DEX UX/UI Design: $30,000

  • Tokenomics & Technical Architecture: $65,000

  • Smart Contract Development & Testing: $60,000

  • Front-end Development & Integration: $65,000

  • Back-End Development for Farming Rewards and Charting/Analytics: $45,000

  • Trading Alerts Features: $25,000

  • Smart Contract Audits (Internal & 3rd Party): $50,000

Marketing, Business Development, and Operations: $120K

  • Business Development & Partnerships: $45,000

  • Marketing & Community Engagement: $50,000

  • Operations & Miscellaneous: $25,000

Legal & Compliance: $100K

  • Comprehensive legal support and compliance assurance to navigate the regulatory landscape effectively

Infrastructure & Miscellaneous Costs: $190K

  • Hosting Costs: $35,000

  • Blockchain Indexing/Data Storage: $25,000

  • Contingency Fund: $50,000

  • 1-Year Maintenance: $80,000 (Included to ensure ongoing support and updates for the platform, covering server maintenance, product updates, and bug fixes.)

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the voting results as of 4/7 are below.

AIP-409: Voter Discovery and Coalitions in ApeCoin DAO

This proposal seeks to leverage aggregation data and analysis to create a report to identify and address barriers to voting in the DAO and create a more engaged and focused community.

An extended coverage of the DAO’s internal power groups would also be a part of this report. It would include transparency of these groups and their voting power and look into potential governance attacks.

It is requesting $25,000, 33% if the proposal is accepted and the remaining 67% upon report completion.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the voting results as of 4/7 are below.

AIP-414: ApeCoin DAO at NFC Lisbon

This proposal aims to establish a presence for ApeCoin and the DAO at the Non Fungible Conference (NFC) in Portugal, scheduled for May 28-29th plus a wrap-up event on May 30th.

It would include a 20m² furnished networking lounge, which would include an interactive play-zone featuring stand-up arcade games. The booth would also feature a large digital monitor playing ApeCoin-focused content and a branded wall.

The conference’s primary WiFi network accessible for guests and other sponsors would be named ApeCoin. Attendee wristbands and staff t-shirts would display ApeCoin branding and ApeCoin would be featured on various banners and screens during Agoria’s final set of the opening night party.

Two on-stage panels would be held, one focused on ApeChain (prioritizing members of the Special Council, Horizen Labs, and Layer Zero) and the other focused on ApeCoin DAO Working Groups.

ApeCoin would be announced as co-organizers alongside The Sandbox for the May 30th boat and beach wrap-up parties. The beach event would also serve as a pre-party for the Moga Music Festival expected to draw between 10,000-12,000 people.

The DAO would receive 40 general access event tickets, 40 general access allowlist spots, 40 special-access boat tickets, and entry for up to 40 people in the special-access area of the wrap-up event. Tickets would be distributed to community members in-person and new Discourse signups would be incentivized with small amounts of ApeCoin.

The proposal is asking for $155,000 for a platinum-level sponsorship package (see details below). If this proposal passes and platinum-level sponsorships are unavailable when funding is provided, a gold-level booth would be purchased in its place. Any difference in funding would either be not accepted or returned to the Ape Foundation.

You can find the full proposal, including a detailed cost breakdown, here and the voting results as of 4/7 are below.
