(Issue 31)

Contributions to this week's newsletter made by @maariabajwa

Welcome back for another issue of The Bulletin Bored, where I provide news, analytics, and other information on the Apecoin DAO and broader BAYC ecosystem.

Much of the past week was dominated by the events during Art Basel Miami. For everyone who was able to attend, I hope you had a great experience. For those who didn’t, there is always next time! It was great meeting and catching up with so many people. I look forward to meeting many more of you next time.

  • Current Special Council member Yat Siu shared details on what it means to be a member of the SC team

  • Much of the past week was centered around Art Basel and the events held in Miami throughout the week. Scroll through the Bored Ape Gazette’s Twitter timeline to find all the pictures and videos he was able to capture during the week

More and more ideas are getting posted to the Discourse forum. There are currently 23 AIP Ideas on the forum, which is the highest amount since this data started being tracked two months ago.

Unfortunately, I was unable to sit down to record the Member Spotlight this week as I was in Miami. This segment will return next week.

There are four proposals in the Live Voting stage this week.

The second proposal for the Boring Security Team, this one aims to payback costs Feld has been covering, develop partnerships, and setup a UNIv3 deployment strategy to cover Boring Security’s ongoing maintenance costs.

It is requesting $420,696.90 from the DAO. Part of the funds would be used to pay back the amount of money already covered by Boring Consulting to keep the project going and working on their milestones. Here is a breakdown of costs:

  • $380,000 for UNIv3 Deployment Strategy (3-pronged liquidity provision approach)

  • $26,109.41 to pay back Boring Consulting (Feld) for out-of-pocket expenses

  • $13,987.49 Immediate Partnerships (Ledger, etc.)

Below are the current voting results.

The goal of this proposal would be to build a website to deliver information to the community and show the development of the Asia-Pacific community. It would be a multi-language website, starting with English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

The overall cost would be $164,000 for the first year with an estimated launch date of March 2023.

Below are the current voting results.

Similar to AIP-64, this proposal wants to run a feasibility study to determine if the community would want a Regional Conference & Festival in Phuket, Thailand. The cost of this proposal is listed as “in the range of $15k” with a goal to be completed in 2-3 months if this proposal were to pass.

Below are the current voting results.

This proposal aims to setup a Discord server and mentions it could be setup in two weeks. The proposal consists of an overall cost of 78,000 Apecoin per year, broken down as follows:

  • Admin/coordinator - 1000 Apecoin / month

  • 4 experienced moderators - 4000 Apecoin / month

  • PR and marketing specialist - 1000 Apecoin / month

  • Part-time security specialist - 500 Apecoin / month

Below are the current voting results.

Brian Tang, from the Cartan Group, proposed an idea called “Add new Discourse Category for Administrative Review.” Once a proposal is sent to the Special Council, it can be hard to tell when it has entered and exited that part of the process. This proposal seeks to improve transparency of the process so the community can know which proposals are in that status.

You can check out the full proposal here.

AIP-110 included 13,000 Apecoin to be used to fund three rounds of grants (13 total grants of 1,000 Apecoin each). The first round, including three of the 13 total grants, ended last week. Here are the winners of round one.

The team has also said details on the start date for round two will be coming soon.
